Hello, world. I know I have an intro post that WordPress set me up with, but frankly, I like to do things my own way. Plus I like to talk. And talking about things I know, like myself, for instance, makes me feel more comfortable in a new environment. Once I establish some extended information about me, I can say ‘see previous entries for more info’ and continue onto my real stuff for whatever I’m working on. So… here goes.
My name isn’t Constantine – it’s Jessica. I used to roleplay a lot, and my favorite character was always Constantine St. John. Unfortunately the site she was on got deleted because of some Invisionfree screwup. Sad story, because it was a huge site I put together with a few of my closest online friends. I loved to revisit it occasionally to remind myself of what it was like to be able to spend literally every day writing fiction and having a blast. And the numbers 319… well, I happen to like them.
I’m 20 years old right now. I’m living in a cheap apartment with my amazing boyfriend and adorable, insufferable kitten, Neville. (We thought she was a he… but found out she was actually a she after she had already learned her name.) There’s always some sort of chore to do, but I love it; I love having full responsibility for my environment and being able to clean up or move things around whenever I want.
I’m not in school right now. I was for a while. I graduated in spring of ’08. I had surgery that fall and then started taking gen eds at a local community college the next spring, shortly after landing my first job as a cashier at a grocery store. Then I met my boyfriend. We had an amazing summer before I tried going back to school that fall for a graphics communication program. I got really sick in October and had to drop out because the teachers were uncooperative. (Nevermind the worst flu season in the last hundred years or so… They had their policies, you know. No one deserves special treatment.) I took the hint – after struggling in high school – that maybe organized school wasn’t for me right then.
I have recently quit the aforementioned grocery store and begun work at a local advertising agency. I work in the interactive department alongside the web developers and programmers. I don’t have any formal knowledge so I’m basically filling in and doing boring legwork for a lot cheaper, which is fine with me, because they pay a lot better than Walmart did.
The big reason I’m here, though, is because I want to write about metaphysical topics. New age has been a comforting thing for me to find in these last few years, and I’ve learned a lot. I want to share what I know, reach out to others my age who may have been struggling like I did, and hopefully learn from some more people in the process. I also want to build a retreat center in a big old house (or a couple of big houses, I’m not picky) out in nature and teach people how to live better, and more in tune with themselves. I feel that this may be my life purpose, or one of them.
My experiences, so far, are with tarot cards, pendulums, chakras, meditation, essential oils, and spirit guides. I am slowly getting into oracle cards, mediumship, and… well, everything else. One of these days I’ll post a list of books I have. I’d love to have the time to do for all of them… perhaps I’ll find time to do about half. That’s difficult because, well, I’m always getting new books. It’s my extremely unhealthy stress release. But I like the way a room feels if you find bookshelves full of books.
I work mostly with the Legacy of the Divine tarot deck by Ciro Marchetti at this time. I learned how to read with his deck, the Gilded Tarot. I also have a copy of Shadowscapes and The Golden Tarot by Kat Black, I believe. I have the Psychic Oracle Tarot deck by John Holland and Colette Baron-Reid’s Wisdom of the Hidden Realms Oracle Cards. I have two pendulums, a fluorite one and an amethyst one. I love them both dearly.
